During the day the Strip is filled with entertainers, such as these Alan lookalikes ... ... or these exhibitionists! Once you've finished with the modern Strip, take a trip downtown to Fremont Street. The Fremont Street Experience light canopy (© Antoine Taveneaux, CCASA3.0). The famous Little White Chapel, where Michael Jordan tied the knot. Further afield, the Grand Canyon is a four hour drive from Vegas. Yaki Point, in the Grand Canyon National Park. This picture gives a sense of the Grand Canyon's enormity. Relatively inexpensive helicopter tours over the Grand Canyon are also available. The Valley of Fire, about an hour from Vegas, also has stunning rock formations. The Hoover Dam is about a 30 minute drive from Vegas. Here are the 1932 plans for the Hoover Dam. The Hoover Dam is 221 metres tall. Construction of the Hoover Dam created Lake Mead, the largest reservoir in the United States. The Hoover Dam complex from the air.
